Dear Reader,

Announcements

Blue Cactus Press has two upcoming workshops to be aware of:

In conjunction with Imprint Bookstore, in Port Townsend, Blue Cactus Press will be presenting Demystifying Publishing Contracts on Saturday, May 7th. Join publishers Conner Bouchard-Roberts (of Winter Texts) and Christina Vega (of Blue Cactus Press) as they lead participants through the ins and outs of book publishing contracts.

Also, Book Production 101, offered as a half-day, in-person workshop facilitated by Christina Vega, is on June 25. I did this workshop when it was first offered and can’t say enough about how helpful it was in getting my planning started around the publication of my current works in progress.

Creative Colloquy’s Volume Eight Print Anthology is available at King’s Books! If you don’t have this treasure already (featuring fourteen writers and twelve artists, all local) you need to stop in and pick up a copy!

Creative Colloquy will also be presenting the next installation of The Writer’s Workshop Series on Friday, May 6, at 7:00 pm: Four-Sentence Exercises to Boost Creativity and Sensory Description with Tyrean Martinson.

Participants will engage in listening, discussion, writing, and sharing to learn how to:

· Create a micro-fiction story

· Utilize short writing exercises to hone their writing craft

· Increase their sensory descriptions beyond visual description.

I look forward to this event!

Also make sure to check out Evergreen — CC Message In A Bottle - short pieces inspired by a simple word: Evergreen.

Be! Eugene Be! Creative presents the launch of In a Past Life & Other Poems Sung by the Window, a tribute in 68 songs.

The launch is 7pm on April 28, with simultaneous events on Zoom and Facebook Live.

Hope to see you there!

B. Eugene B.s' Artist Statement

Different forms of self are apparent in my art. My visual art is closely tied to my process of writing poetry, and these two forms of expression are considered the same child in my mind; not a closely related phenomenon, but an alternate form of the same creation.
