How We Will Select Poems

The editorial committee will select poems for the anthology based on the
following criteria.

The poems can be in any poetic style, and on any subject, but must be “of, about, or inspired by Tacoma.” This description is intentionally vague. It describes the spirit of the work to be included in the anthology and informs the editors’ decision-making process and it allows for their artistic interpretation.
Because the “Voices of Tacoma” do not all speak English, we encourage poets to write in their native language. We will do our best to engage editorial panelists (readers) who are fluent in your native language to best evaluate the poem(s).
No editing will be done without the Poets’ consent.
